What really bothers me is that fact that there are a lot of banks and large institutions lobbying for bailout money that have no right to do so. They are even destroying their balance sheets in the process to make the appearance that they are in need of such a bailout. Why not, the money is their and the government is passing it out, so why not.

I will go as far as to say that banks are short selling assets to newly formed entities that they have a tie to in some under the table or insider arrangement to obtain their assets at discounted prices. This shows the government that they are taking huge rightdowns, over 50% of value, and that they are in need of TARP funds. So not only do they get government bailout, but the right-off, and they are gettin the assets at a half price special un der the table, on the side, however they set it up.

Absolute insanity and no one is talking about it.
